AFC Leopards settling debts to end FIFA transfer ban

AFC Leopards are in the process of settling dues owed to their former foreign players and coaches who reported the team to FIFA leading to a transfer embargo slapped on the team.Leopards are currently suspended from signing players owing to five cases at FIFA by their former players and coaches. Former coaches Marko Vasiljevic, Andre Cassa Mbungo, and ex-players Tressor Ndikumana, Vincent Habamahoro, and Soter Kayumba all reported the team to FIFA after they left the club without their dues being settled in full, all of them bar Marko ditched Ingwe due to financial struggles the team was undergoing. The cases resulted in Ingwe being slapped with an embargo in March this year meaning they cannot sign players until they settle the dues owed to their ex-employees.FIFA has slapped AFC Leopards with a two-window transfer ban for failing to pay their former player Vincent Habamahoro Ksh. 1.7 million. The World Football Governing body had ordered Ingwe to pay the Rwandese midfielder for breach of contract or face sanctions.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/2nfA0Tl29Q— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) March 23, 2021 In an interview with Mozzart Sport, Club treasurer Maurice Chichi disclosed how they have planned to handle all the five cases and is confident that everything will be fine by the end of August.“The transfer embargo will be lifted because the good thing with this is once you pay and they write to FIFA confirming the same, the sanctions are lifted immediately and we will be able to sign players. We have set August 31st as our deadline and I am confident that we will be in a good position by then,” he told Mozzart Sport.Ingwe is planning to settle all the monies owed to Marko, they are negotiating with Bandari coach Mbungo who is supposed to be paid Ksh. 6 million to have the debt paid for a long period.“We have five cases, one is urgent for former coach Marco, that one we are going to clear this coming week, then the second that’s urgent is that of coach Cassa Mbungo and we have put in place a few measures to ensure that we raise that fund and we are also negotiating with him to see if we can settle it on a longer payment plan and we are confident that if we sort those two and they write to FIFA confirming that we have agreed, it will be okay for us,” he continued.Shirikisho la soka duniani FIFA limeiamuru klabu ya AFC Leopards AFC Leopards kulipa Ksh.
