Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo has welcomed the return of youngsters Alpha Onyango and Frank Odhiambo terming it as a huge boost to the team.Onyango has been out with a back injury he picked against Wazito on 23rd June in Thika. Odhiambo on the other hand was part of the Kenya U23 team that took part in the just-concluded Cecafa U23 Championship in Ethiopia. The two are now back with the team, Alpha marked his return from injury on Saturday by featuring for 60 minutes in the shocking friendly match against arch-rivals AFC Leopards. Kenya U23 team touched down on Monday and Odhiambo will now link up with his club.Pamzo says the pair’s availability is a big boost for the team that is currently depleted heading into the final matches of the 2020/ 21 season.“It is a very big boost for us to have the two because they are key members of the team despite their young age and their availability makes us stronger. We are already much depleted and having some players coming from an injury or other commitments is a big positive for us and I am very happy. Alpha has been a very key player for us and when you look at our performance, we haven’t won since he got injured and it goes to show just how important he is for the team,” Omolo told Mozzart Sport.🟢 | 7′ Gor Mahia forced into an early substitution Alpha Onyango is injured he gets replaced by John MachariaGor Mahia 0 Wazito FC 0#BKPLLigiYetu#BKPL pic.twitter.com/NMXm5f6w03— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 23, 2021 Gor already lost Kenneth Muguna who left the club for Azam FC in Tanzania.
