With the costly defeat, Stima found themselves in 16th position, a relegation playoff position, after Mathare United staged a successful 2-3 comeback against Kariobangi Sharks that lifted them out of the danger territory and up to 15th place on the log on 21 points. Although Mathare and Stima are tied on points, the slum boys have a superior goal difference.
