Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo could be heading out of Tanzanian giants Yanga with the club said to be interested in Mali national team keeper, Djigui Diarra.Shikalo was Yanga’s first-choice keeper in the second leg of the just-concluded campaign but his time in Jangwani could be up as the Jangwani Boys are reportedly courting Stade Malien’s Diarra as they beef up their squad ahead of next season’s campaign where they will be seeking to prevent Simba from winning a fifth straight league title.Shikalo’s contract with Yanga has expired and according to reports in Tanzania, the club is not keen on offering him a new deal and they are in the market in search of a new number 1 with Diarra their main transfer target. Other players reported to be heading out of Yanga include Lamine Moro, Michael Sarpong, Haruna Niyonzima, and Paul Godfrey.🇹🇿 Yanga SC are set to release 🇰🇪 Kenyan goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo (24) to make way for 🇲🇱 Malian goalkeeper Djigui Diarra (26). 🚨#TimuYaWananchi pic.twitter.com/FZEceUERnQ— Micky Jnr ✪ (@MickyJnr__) August 4, 2021 The Kenyan international joined Yanga in 2019 from Bandari after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. He would then play for Muhoroni Youth, Ushuru FC, Posta Rangers, and finally Bandari before he crossed over to Tanzania.Yanga is currently on a signing spree. They have re-signed Heritier Makambo and Yusuph Athuman, while Fiston Mayele has joined the team from AS Vita. Former Gor Mahia winger Dickson Ambundo is reportedly on his way to Yanga as well.
