FC Talanta attacking midfielder Francis Kahiro is certain that his scintillating form in the National Super League (NSL) this season will procure him offers from Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clubs in the forthcoming transfer window.Kahiro was handed a lifeline in his career in February when Talanta acquired his signature for the second time putting to an end his search for a new home as he was a free agent in the first leg.The midfielder has since not disappointed as he had found the back of the net five times and registered two assists to assert himself as a key player in the Ken Kenyatta coached side.Kahiro who conceded that he nearly hanged his boots prematurely due to injuries and unending family issues said he was optimistic that top flight clubs will knock his door when the window opens. The lanky player who nearly signed with league newbies Bidco United revealed that he was working round the clock to polish his skills in a bid to help Talanta gain promotion and market himself.”One of the reason behind my form is the peace of mind which came after solving confidential family issues which forced me to take a break. The confidence from coach Kenyatta has also helped me rediscover my form. I am looking to score more goals and assist the club play in the top flight next season as well as show my talent to suitors, ” he said. Having watched his bosom buddies; John Avire and James Kinyanjui take the top flight by storm, the deadlocked midfielder expressed hope that he will follow their footsteps soon. The three were part of the dreaded Passenga Boys High School squad that defied odds to win the National Secondary Schools title in 2015 and both Kinyanjui and Avire have since become household names in Kenyan football.Avire is currently attached to Aswani SC in Egypt and was part of the Harambee Stars team that represented the country in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.”My two close friends whom I used to assist on the pitch while at Passenga have done well in the league and I really want to experience the same. The challenge has been injuries but I am glad I have managed to shake them off,” he said.Kahiro joined Talanta in 2018 from Savanah Cement but was unfortunate to spend the whole of 2019 on the sideline due to a nagging groin injury. He left Talanta last year following the expiry of his contract. He however returned to the club in February on a two-year contract.
