Former Gor Mahia ace Kenneth Muguna has already arrived in Tanzania to link up with his new club Azam FC ahead of next season’s campaign. The Kenyan international was officially unveiled at the Tanzanian outfit on 21st July as he became the club’s fourth signing.The former Western Stima midfielder opted not to renew his contract with the record Kenyan champions and closed a deal with the Tanzanian side which is rebuilding its team in a bid to challenge giants Yanga and Simba. In the just concluded season, Azam finished third in the Tanzania Ligi Kuu Bara, fifteen points behind 2020/2021 champions Simba.Taking to his social media portals, the midfielder posted a video of him at the Azam Complex Stadium on Wednesday together with the caption ‘home.’Next season, Muguna will become the third Kenyan international to play in the Tanzanian top flight as he joins former teammate Joash Onyango and Farouk Shikalo who are currently plying their trade at Simba and Yanga respectively.Ahead of the new season, Azam is currently embroiled in the ongoing regional CECAFA club competition taking place in Tanzania. The team currently tops group B after defeating Uganda’s Kampala City 2-0 in their opening match played on Monday. They take on Burundi’s Le Massager Ngozi, who are in third place, in their next match taking place today. Zanzibar’s KMKM complete the number of team in group B.
