Grealish is England’s most expensive player, but where is he in the world’s top 10?

Five years. That’s how long we had to wait for a new transfer record in th Premier League. After officially completing his move to Manchester City, Jack Grealish went straight to the top 10 list of most expensive English transfers of all time. And the move is worth 15 billion Ksh, while his wage over the course of this six years will be more than 30 million Ksh per week. Paul Pogba now drops into the second place, with his 13.5 billion Ksh move to Manchester United in 2016. But what about world’s most expensive transfers? We all knew how this would finish – Pep gave his ’10’ to Jack GrealishJack Grealish ’s transfer is currently in number 7 spot, just 64 millions Ksh more than Christiano Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juventus. Off course, like a few other footballers, Ronaldo occupies two spots, as his Manchester to Real move is in 12th place with 12 billion Ksh. And with Romelo Lukaku’s almost certain move from Inter Milan to Chelsea for a reported 14.3 billion, the list will update again. And we’ll still not talking about a possible Harry Kane move and how much will it cost (if it happens at all). Two super-transfers to trigger a strikers domino effectBut for now, the world’s most expensive footballer is still Neymar Jr, whose spectacular move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017/18 season was 28.5 billion worth. Quatar’s wealthy PSG owners also have the second most expensive player, Kylan Mbappe, whose move from Monaco in 2018/19 was worth 18.6 billion. Phillippe Coutinho is in the third place, as the Brazilian went from Liverpool to Barcelona for a whopping 17.3 billion. Needles to say, he didn’t live up to his expectations, and Barca are desperate to offload him. Speaking about unfulfilled expectations, the guy at number 4 has also failed to show his potential, and guess what, it was again Barcelona who overpaid the player – Osumane Dembele. The French winger was bought for the same amount as Coutinho from Borussia Dortmund but injuries have taken his tool. The Portuguese youngster Joao Felix is in the fifth place, as his 16.3 billion Ksh transfer was paid by Atletico Madrid, when they bought him from Benfica. The top 10 list is: 1. Neymar Jr – PSG 28.5 billion2. Kylian Mbappe – PSG 18.6 billion3. Phillippe Coutinho – Barcelona 17.3 billion4. Osumane Dembele – Barcelona 17.3 billion5. Joao Felix – Atletico Madrid 16.3 billion6.
