Experienced Kariobangi Sharks defender Samuel Olwande has expressed his delight at taking part in the team’s training session nearly four months since being sidelined with an ankle injury. Back in March, Olwande tore his right ankle cartilage while in the Harambee Stars camp constituted by local based players who were gearing up for the final two games of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. With the injury needing surgical operation in order to be corrected, the former Mathare United man was consequently forced to stay out of action for four months. On August 6, after completing the rehabilitation period, the club announced that the defender was slowly being reintegrated into the first team squad.“Olwande is gradually making his way back to the first team training after four months out with an ankle injury,” the club announced on its official social media handles.👀| Look who’s finally back in the mix.🗞️| Samuel Olwande is gradually making his way back to first team training after 4 months out with an ankle injury.#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/dMXcdJe6Jd— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) August 6, 2021 Two days on, the defender who has been on the treatment and rehabilitation rooms alongside national U23 winger Patrick Otieno, also in a post on his social media platforms, could not hide his excitement at being able to get back on the pitch and play once more.“It has been quite a long journey.
