Stuttering Tusker FC will be seeking to revive their fading title hopes when they take on a struggling Sofapaka on Saturday afternoon at the Ruaraka Grounds.Tusker lost their top spot to KCB on Wednesday after back-to-back losses to Nairobi City Stars and Bandari. They now trail the Bankers by two points with four matches before the season comes to a close. The match against Batoto ba Mungu however presents them with a good opportunity to bounce back as a win against Sofapaka and a draw or loss for KCB against Gor Mahia on Sunday will see them return to the top of the FKF Premier League log.Against Sofapaka, they face a team that has a myriad of challenges. The team has not been training well due to financial challenges that have seen players go for a couple of months without pay. Former captain Michael Kibwage has announced that he will be leaving the club while Burundian Amissi Bizimana has already left for Kiyovu Sports and all these off-pitch issues give Tusker the edge heading into the game.Match Day🆚| Sofapaka 🏟️| Ruaraka Complex🕒| 3:15pm EAT#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/Ybm1Hz2tfO— Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 7, 2021 Sofapaka however will be boosted by their midweek win over Nzoia Sugar at Ruaraka Grounds. The Ken Odhiambo-led team managed to end its five-match winless run to down 10-men Millers, a win that brought to a halt the poor run.The two teams played to a one-all draw in the first leg. In the last five games, Sofapaka has won one, registered two draws, and lost two games. Tusker on the other hand have won one, lost two, and drew two.Tusker boss Robert Matano was on Thursday named June coach of the month and the veteran tactician says the award will motivate them in the remaining four games.“I am delighted with this award but credit goes to the players and the technical bench for the work we have put in. We worked hard as a unit to achieve this and we are grateful,” said the coach after being feted. Now this award will be a motivation to us for the last four games of the season and we will give our best to ensure we win our matches,” he said.
