Kamau explains Oburu’s super sub role

Wazito FC assistant coach John Kamau is happy with the impact Vincent Oburu has made off the bench in the last two games. The striker has scored three goals in the last two games, in both games, he has come off the bench. It started with a match against Mathare United a fortnight ago where he was introduced at halftime and scored twice in the 2-1 win over the Slum Boys. Last weekend, he again came off the bench at halftime for Boniface Omondi and found the back of the net to help Wazito get a point in a 1-1 draw against Bidco United.Kamau has explained the reason why they have been using the former AFC Leopards as a substitute. He says the player’s direct style of play and desire to score goals makes him a good arsenal off the bench.“I think he is a super sub because we are creating so many chances and with Oburu being a more direct player it is an advantage. Most of our players are technically good but he is direct and each and every time he thinks about scoring and for us, it was a timely sub just like last time out against Mathare United and I think if he continues this way he will be a very good player,” he told Mozzart Sport.Part of the actionWazito FC vs Bidco United#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/56VrsVwInG— WAZITO FOOTBALL CLUB (@wazitofc) August 5, 2021 Midfielder Fidel Origa who has started in 26 league matches came off the bench against Mathare and missed the game against Bidco entirely. Kamau has allayed fears that the player is injured, he has explained that the hardworking midfielder is being rested as he has played many games.”He has done his part this season because he has played so many games and we are just taking a precaution because we will not have time to rest before the next campaign starts. We’ve based the decision to rest him on scientific advice,” he added.Up next for Wazito is an away game against Nzoia Sugar on Sunday.
