Posta Rangers midfielder Peter Ng’ang’a is optimistic of better tidings next season after spending the better part of the current season on the treatment table and on the bench.Ng’ang’a has had to contend with lean playing time this season courtesy of recurring groin and ankle injuries which saw him miss the better part of the first leg.Further, the change of guard at the club in February which saw Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo relieved off his duties and his shoes filled by Stanley Okumbi reduced the player to an impact player. The arrival of Okumbi saw a number of players who were part of Pamzo’s starting team drop to the bench as the former Harambee Stars boss has a high affinity of players deemed to be comfortable with the ball.Stopped Peter Ng’ang’a and Jerry Santo combine to stop George Odhiambo at the edge of the box during this Gor Mahia-Posta Rangers clash from the season 2018.L-R: Francis Kahata, Luis Tera and Francis Mustapha look on. #footke pic.twitter.com/L1Gri34SWH— Footballers Of Our Time (@TransferMarktEA) June 25, 2021 Ng’ang’a who was among the casualties says he is working hard to ensure he enjoys more play time next season, be it at Posta or any other team in the FKFPL.”I had a terrible first leg as injuries kept on coming back. Both coaches have used me sparingly this season due to injuries but I am glad I have overcome them. I have also taken time to get accustomed to Okumbi’s style of play. I am working hard to regain my form even as I anticipate for playing time next season, ” he said.Ng’ang’a joined the mailmen in January 2018 from Nakuru All Stars after displaying flair when the team was plying its trade in the National Super League. With his contract at Posta set to expire this year, the lanky player is hoping to have his deal renewed or play elsewhere.”I have less than six months remaining in my contract with Posta. I am open to offers including contract renewal talks with the club,” he added.
