Harambee Starlets defender Dorcas Shikobe has linked up with his new club Lakatamia FC of Cyprus after inking a deal with the European side earlier.The 31-year-old defender was pictured in training with her new teammates in training photos that the club shared on Tuesday, 10 August 2021, as the team gets in shape ahead of the start of the 2021/22 season that is set to kick off in SeptemberThe club confirmed the capture of the Kenyan international in June through their social media account, barely a week after she won the Kenya Women Premier League with Thika Queens FC.”We welcome Dorcas Nixon to our team. Welcome to Lakatamia FC Dorcas,” the club posted then.Kenya’s duo of goalkeeper Annedy Kundu and defender Ruth Ingotsi, turning out for Eldoret Falcons before making their European move, had their stints at the Cypriot club in 2020 before switching to Division One side AEL Champions barely nine months later.Shikobe has been quoted by Nation Sports saying that Ruth and Ingotsi opened the doors for her in Cyprus as she got the chance courtesy of their recommendation on top of their good performance with the team.”Kundu and Ingotsi getting to play for Lakatamia FC was my way in because they did so well in those few months that they played for the club such that their coach wanted to know if he can get more players in.
