Dilemma for AFC Leopards defender Kamura after club extended Aussems contract

AFC Leopards decision to extend coach Patrick Aussems’s contract was received with much joy from Ingwe supporters but the decision complicated matters for disgruntle former skipper Robinson Kamura who could bring his four-year stay at the club to an end.The former Leopards captain fell out with the Belgian coach months ago. It started with him getting benched and was later stripped off the captaincy and the final phase was the tactician banishing the soft-spoken ex-Mathare defender from the team altogether. The cause of the fall-out remains unclear and according to a source from the den, the genesis of the squabble between the pair has shocked many including players who are still struggling to understand how what started as the coach not preferring the player in his starting XI ended with him being stripped of the captaincy and later being banished from the team.AFC Leopards trio of Robinson Kamura, Jaffar Owiti and Yusuf Mainge have renewed their contracts with the club. The three have recommited for the next two years.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/8dZpzjZOdO— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) January 13, 2021 The club’s management is equally at a loss and some NEC members are reportedly backing the player and want Kamura to remain in the team with the hope that the coach will reintegrate the player back into the team.Kamura was already out of favor even before he was banished from the team, the former Simba coach went to the extent of playing Isaac Kipyegon, left-back in central defense with his captain on the bench. The club is currently working to have their transfer embargo lifted so that they can sign players during the off-season window. Defense is likely to be a priority meaning that even if Kamura opts to stay put his chances of featuring for the team next campaign are limited as coach Aussems will have many options to choose from.As Leopards continue to work on the best solution for both the player and the club, rivals are drooling over the possibility of signing the lanky defender. Among clubs contemplating his signing are AFC Leopards’ arch-rivals Gor Mahia. K’Ogalo are reportedly monitoring his situation and are ready to pounce should he be made available.Bingwa mtetezi wa Ligi Kuu nchini 🇰🇪 Gor Mahia wameanza mipango ya kusaka huduma za nahodha wa klabu ya AFC Leopards Robinson Kamura. pic.twitter.com/y4qXx9z6Ja— Mozzart Bet Kenya (@mozzartbetkenya) July 14, 2021 Kamura has served Leopards since the start of 2017, he has been loyal to them in highs and lows and the least he deserves is descent treatment, the handling of the whole issue has been far from respectful and the right thing at this point will be letting him exit peacefully for another team. It is the least a player has loved the team over the years deserves.
