Makwata joining FKFPL giants?

Harambee Stars forward John Makwata could be set for a sensational return to AFC Leopards after he was spotted training with the twelve-time league champions for the last few days. The striker was released by Zesco a month ago after failing to cement his place at the Zambian champions. He returned home and featured for Soka Talent in the ongoing Dennis Oliech Cup that is sponsored by Mozzart Bet. The striker could now be set for a sensational return to the den and is currently training with the Patrick Aussems led team.“Makwata is a top player and definitely, we are interested in bringing him back to the team as he will boost our attack. We first have to negotiate with him and see if we can reach some form of agreement. If he agrees to rejoin us then he will be part of the team next season but at this point, it’s premature to say that he is our player,” a source from the den told Mozzart Sport.Kenyan international John Makwata has left Zesco United, a year after he joined the club from AFC Leopards.Makwata signed a three-year deal with the club but found playtime difficult to come by. There are a number of clubs that have approached me but after maybe a week is when I will disclose the details, I can’t really talk much on offers now. There are also a number of Kenyan clubs but I do not think I will return to play in the country just yet,” said Makwata.A product of the famous JMJ Academy, Makwata started out at Nairobi City Stars in 2011 before crossing over to Ulinzi Stars in 2013. In 2017 he resigned from the military and joined the Zambian side, Buildcon, and a year later he left for Omani side Al Nasr. He returned to the country in 2019 and joined AFC Leopards. He is a full Kenyan international having made several appearances for Harambee Stars.
