Ruthless Kabras maintain unbeaten run with thumping win over Mwamba

Kabras Sugar maintained their unbeaten start to the season as they made Mwamba their latest casualties with a thumping 12-56 victory recorded in a Kenya Cup match played at RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.Coming into the match, Kabras were the only remaining side yet to taste defeat as they ended KCB’s unbeaten run with a 30-23 victory in their last outing.Against Mwamba, the Sisimka Cup winners came chasing their eighth consecutive win on foreign ground.Just two minutes in, Kabras laid down their marker of intent as Felix Ayange touched down a corner post try for Kabras’ first five points on the score board following an an unsuccessful conversion attempt by Jone Kubu that sailed wide.#KenyaCup Kickoff from RFUEA Grounds vs @MwambaRFC pic.twitter.com/I3Otpgw7Id— Kabras Sugar RFC (@RfcKabras) August 14, 2021 It did not take long before Kubu registered his first try of the game. The penalty came about after Musoga was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle on a Mwamba player.Seemingly buoyed by their first time scoring exploits, Mwamba came out a much better and improved side in the second half. They managed to add another three points to their name after electing to take a penalty following a Kabras infringement to get the scores to 6-29.Having been subdued, Kabras recorded their first points in the second half when Seremala ran the length of the pitch before setting up Kubu who scored their sixth try of the game. His conversion however sailed wide to get the scores at 6-34.With, Kabras reduced to fourteen men after Kubu was sent to the sin bin, Mwamba, unable to sneak in a try, added another three points from a drop goal after a resolute Kabras defense proved stubborn, the scores reading 9-34.Kabras quickly added three quick tries to surpass the fifty point mark as they took the scores to 9-51 with tries from Misoga, Tanga and Kubu.In the dying embers of the match, Mwamba managed another to add another three after a successful penalty conversion that got the game to a score of 12-51.Still there was some time left for a late Kabras try that was scored by Misoga, who as Kubu, completed his hat trick of tries to get the game to a full time score of 12-56 following an unsuccessful conversion.
