AFC Leopards coach leaves the country

AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems left the country over the weekend for Belgium where he is set to spend time with his family before returning to the country to begin pre-season with the team. The Belgian’s last assignment of the season was the 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Friday. His assistant Tom Juma will be in charge of the remaining two league matches against KCB FC on Wednesday and Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday.Aussems recently reached an agreement with the club over an extension of his contract for two years. The former Simba SC coach had joined Ingwe on an initial six-month deal with the club and after relatively a good run with the club, the two parties reached a mutual agreement to renew the contract for a further two years. The return trip to Nairobi by road is much more pleasant with this victory … 😉😉😉 pic.twitter.com/HI4qCOf4V1— Patrick Aussems (@PatrickAussems) August 12, 2021 A source from the den has told Mozzart Sports that the tactician is taking as short before resuming duty in readiness for the 2021/22 season that starts at the end of September. His reign has been largely successful as the team sit fourth in the league table, they also reached the final of the FKF Cup where they went down to Gor Mahia via post-match penalties.“The coach left the country over the weekend for Belgium. He went for a short holiday before he returns for pre-season. Tom Juma will oversee the remaining two games, he will be assisted by Lawrence Webo. The two are trusted by the coach and they should be able to do a good job,” the source disclosed. The team is currently working on ensuring that the transfer embargo that was slapped on the club for failure to pay its ex-players and coaches is lifted to ensure that Aussems signs his target.
