The 2009 league champions Sofapaka will be out to enhance their chances of a top ten finish when they confront Bandari at the Wundanyi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.Sofapaka made a statement of intent after thrashing Wazito 3-0 last weekend a win which took them five points off the top ten bracket. The club under coach Kennedy Odhiambo will be praying that luck will be on their side at Wundanyi where they have won a large chunk of their games and put Bandari to the sword. Odhiambo who will facing his former employer is certainly a happy man ahead of the match as the players trained as a unit if the sentiments by his centre back Stephen Otieno is anything to go by. Otieno revealed that they had polished all departments and they were ready to register their tenth win of the season and give their fans something to smile after an underwhelming season. “We want to close the season with wins and enter the top ten. We have prepared for the match well as we trained as a unit. We want to build on the Wazito win and achieve our target in the match,” said the Harambee Stars trialist.Bandari on the other hand will be seeking to consolidate their stay in the top three bracket. The dockers beat Mathare United 3-0 last weekend to move to a point within the reach of half a century points and take on Sofapaka keen to widen the gap between them and fourth placed AFC Leopards.Despite missing their holding midfielder Dennis Magige who is injured, the club right back Duncan Otewa is confident that Sofapaka will have it rough. Magige sprained his hamstring last week in training and watched the Mathare duel from the stands.Mzinyi! 🔥🔥Watu wetu wa Taita, kijana wenu Darius “Mombasa” Msagha anarudi nyumbani na kikosi kizima cha Bandari. We have more than two players who can full his shoes and hence his absence will not be felt. We are going for the three points,” said the veteran defender.
