It was quite a run on holes-in-one at Radley Run Country Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
While most of the golf attention in the state last week was tuned in to the U.S. Amateur at Oakmont, four members of the club were having their own kind of fun.
According to Jon Arthur, the PGA Head Professional at Radley Run, there were four aces from August 11 to August 14 at the course.
Two of the four happened on the same day.
Andy Kornick was first. On Wednesday, Aug. 11, Kornick aced the 13th hole from 135 yards with an 8-iron.
Two days later, Keith Walter aced the 13th. He used a 9-iron from 138 yards for his hole-in-one. Yes, he aced the 13th on Friday the 13th. Make of that what you will.
Then on Saturday, Aug. 14, Jerry Shanahan and Terry Russell made aces. Shanahan used his trusty 3-wood from 230 yards out on the fourth hole while Terry Russell muscled up his driver from 150 yards on the 11th.
“A pretty cool week here at Radley Run!” Arthur said in an email to Golfweek. A pretty cool week indeed.
