Harambee Stars World Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Rwanda face cancellation

The protracted settlement between former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche and Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has taken an ugly twist after the FIFA Disciplinary Committee (FDC) recommended the cancellation of a FIFA World Cup qualifier between Kenya and Uganda slated for 2nd September and another match against Rwanda on 5th of the same month..In the event that the games are not played Kenya will forfeit the points. The FDC warned FKF on 26th April 2021 over the same and the federation moved to settle part of Amrouche’s severance package. The naughty federation however, proceeded with match preparations oblivious that the settlement ought to be paid in full failure to which devastating consequences await.Coach Ghost Mulee named a 36-man provisional squad yesterday prompting Amrouche and his representatives to petition FIFA to act.“We refer to the matter of the subject as well as to our previous message below. In this respect please note that the overdue amount of around USD 79000 owed by the FKF to Mr Amrouche still remains outstanding. Therefore, according to the decision FDC 200284 dated 26 April 2021, the FKF is to be expulsed from the preliminary competition of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.” “In view thereof, we kindly request you to confirm by return that the upcoming Worl Cup Qualifiers of the FKF against Uganda on 2 September and Rwanda on 5 September 2021 are canceled resp. forfeited by the FKF,” part of the email to FIFA, from Amrouche’s camp read.FIFA has directed Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to pay former Harambee Stars’ head coach Adel Amrouche 109 Million shillings within the next 30 days or face Sanctions.#FIFA #FKF #Amrouche #KenyanFootball #JazaStadi pic.twitter.com/Y6ZlPQDeNX— Jaza Stadi (@jaza_stadi) March 24, 2020 FKF CEO Barry Otieno refuted claims that the FKF has not paid the Algerian coach, noting that they had cleared the outstanding balance through FIFA but were yet to receive a contrary communication on the same.”We already paid him all his money via FIFA and we’ve not received any recent communication to the contrary.
