Bandari seek to cement third place finish

Bandari will be looking to close the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season on a high when they take on Wazito at the Mbaraki Grounds on Sunday afternoon.Currently, the Cassa Mbungo coached side sit in third position on the log but are still not assured of maintaining that position come the end of the last round of fixtures as they are only two points ahead of fourth placed AFC Leopards and three points ahead of Kariobangi Sharks who are in fifth.Failure to get the job done on the day, the Dockers might find themselves slipping from third to fourth on the league standings, or even fifth if Sharks can find a way of scoring more than five goals in their match against Sofapaka. It is for that reason, that they still have to take matters into their own hands till the full time whistle is blown if they are to finish in third position.👊|Matchday@BandariOfficial vs @wazitofc in Mombasa from 3pm#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/gkG6aBS2of— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) August 22, 2021 On the other hand, Wazito also have a chance to jump a couple of positions if they win and other results work in their favour. Sitting in eighth on 45 points just three behind 4th placed Ingwe, Wazito’s only undoing is their inferior goal difference that is at -1.With the team travelling down to Mombasa, the head coach was just wary about the different climate conditions but expected his boys to pull though the match as he cited they have had a good week of training.“We have had good training this week. Obviously, the match will be difficult because of the difference in weather conditions but I believe it is nothing we will not be able to manage. It is something the players have done before so I expect them to have it under control for the two hours of the match,” said coach Francis Kimanzi said in an interview on the club’s portal.Match DayWe end the season in Mombasa against Bandari FC#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/F0YfSHW76K— WAZITO FOOTBALL CLUB (@wazitofc) August 22, 2021 The first leg between the two sides played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw back in March. And heading into this last encounter of the season, Bandari will feel the more confident of the two as they are unbeaten in their last four matches having not lost since August started. Wazito will be hoping to use the momentum picked from the 1-0 win that condemned Western Stima into relegation.
