Nairobi City Stars defender Bolton Omwenga has bid his team goodbye as he heads to Kagera Sugar of Tanzania who have managed to convince the left-back to ditch Simba wa Nairobi.Omwenga, who joined the team in February from Biashara United of Tanzania was a key player for City Stars during the 2020/21 season scoring and assisting a couple of goals. His good form resulted in him getting recalled to the national team, Harambee Stars for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.The left-back is now set to reunite with coach Francis Baraza at Kagera and he has taken to social media to thank the club for the opportunity they offered him.“I have always said you don’t just join a football club, you join the family and long may that tradition continue. My biggest thanks go to my family, The boss @jonathanjackson599, NSC staff, technical staff, teammates and the fans. Focus remains,”.Bolton started his top flight career with Nzoia Sugar before moving to Kariobangi Sharks, a few years later he relocated to KCB FC before starting his Tanzanian sojourn with Kagera Sugar in 2010.As he heads out, City Stars will now focus on replacing a player who has been one of their best since he joined the team. Until they replace him, they will have to work with Herit Mungai and veteran Wesley Onguso who barely featured in the just concluded season.
