Muyoti focusing on three departments in the transfer window

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Nicholas Muyoti is focusing on improving three departments in his team in readiness for the 2021/22 season that is set to kick off in a month’s time. The former Thika United coach is looking to bring in more quality in the goalkeeping, defense, as well as attacking departments in an attempt to bolster his squad.Muyoti went ahead to reveal that the reason he, together with his technical bench, is focusing on that department is to ensure that they have squad depth for tough times when they have a couple of their players out through injury or other reasons. That’s how we end the 2020/21 season.#AbanaBeingo pic.twitter.com/T0pnb2RF7G— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) August 23, 2021 He also expressed his delight at his midfield, adding that they are very strong in midfield with quality players and their understudies in each position.”We are still lacking depth in the team and that is an area that we are going to look into very much so that when some players are absent we can have others slotting in seamlessly. Going into the new season we will have to sit down as a technical bench with the management and see what we are going to do because we really need to recruit players. There have been rumors that there are some players that are exiting the team, but they will remain rumors until they come true. We are going to strengthen our goalkeeping department, defense, and our striking because I believe in our midfield we are very strong. Just those three departments and we will be good to go,” Muyoti noted.Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Shami Mwinyi Kibwana is set to join Tusker FC. His contract with Homeboyz has expired. The midfielder was in the form of his life in July, scoring eight goals in six games.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/7o0gJ8cACD— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) August 20, 2021 The former AFC Leopards tactician remains unfazed by rumors that he will be losing some of his best players this season with reports indicating that all is set for Shami Mwinyi to join champions Tusker FC.Homeboyz have had a tepid season, blowing hot and cold at different instances in the season, but managed to finish sixth with 46 points, one point less than in their previous campaign where they had only played 22 games.
