Have you been watching Spanish football over the weekend? Well, we have. And to be perfectly honest – it wasn’t spectacular. In fact, it was a big snooze fest in almost every game. All teams scored either no goals or just one. Not only that we wanted to see more goals, but some attacking football wouldn’t have gone amiss. But, alas, it was a barren four-day stretch on the Iberian Peninsula. If we counted out the freakish result at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, the goals average on the remaining nine fixtures is just 1.11 goals per game. Combine such measly average with the fact that most teams are playing a bland, cautious brand of football and it makes you want to watch weather forecast instead.On Monday night, Sevilla snatched an injury-time 1-0 win against a dour Getafe team. Had it not been for in-form Erik Lamela, we would have been subjected to a grand total of nought goals in two Monday fixtures, as Osasuna and Celta played yet another goalless draw late last night.
