In-demand Mwale not in a rush to leave Nzoia

Despite the interest from Posta Rangers, Nzoia Sugar right back Moses Mwale insists that he will not ditch the sugar millers for the mail men.Mwale joined Nzoia at the start of the season from Bandari on a two-year deal and shook off a rugged start of life occasioned by injuries to establish himself as a regular starter in the defence. His performance caught the eye of coach Stanley Okumbi who has worked with him previously in the national U20 and 23 teams but in a rare quality of allegiance, the defender says he will not be studying offers.Mwale, who had not hid his intentions of following the footsteps of his elder brother who plies his trade with Ulinzi Stars attributed his decision to the platform Nzoia have given him to revive his career after failing to break to the Bandari first team.Congratulations Elisha Wekesa, Dan Musamali and Moses Mwale for receiving a call to join the under 23 National team for the upcoming international matches. I have not accomplished my mission here and thus I want to remain and do it. They gave me a chance to rekindle my career and the best way to repay them is to remain behind and give my best,” he said. The former St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale student labelled the concluded season as his best as he enjoyed plenty of playing time unlike at Bandari where he faced off with Nicholas Meja and the experienced Dan Otewa. He says netting the winner against Gor Mahia in the first leg as well as helping the club retain its top flight status signified a successful season to him.Younger Mwale eager to follow on the footsteps of his elder brother”It was a good season which I am happy that I played regularly. The start was rough as I grappled with injuries but I eventually overcame them,” he said.Nzoia are understood to be sweating over the future of their key players who have under the radar of deep pocketed opponents. Among the players who said to on the exit are second revelation Hillary Simiyu, Harambee Stars holding midfielder Kevin Juma, right James Kibande who is likely to join Kagera Sugar among others.
