Even though it was an evident setback for Massimiliano Allegri and his players, few doubted The Old Lady’s chances of mounting a comeback. But as the match went on, it became obvious that these players are lacking the focus required to beat anyone.Striker Alvaro Morata and new signing Manuel Locatelli were sent on at the break, but it did little to turn the game to Juventus’ advantage as Empoli believed more and more that they could claim the scalp of much-fancied opponents. Despite enjoying more possession, Juventus failed to create clear-cut chances as frustration gripped their misfiring stars. If only there were Cristiano Ronaldo to provide a spark in games like this.
