Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi has set his eyes on getting redemption after officially rejoining twelve-time Kenyan champions, Tusker on a two-year deal. Back in October 2018, the custodian who had joined the Brewers from Posta Rangers went on to ditch Tusker after barely featuring for them for three months as he left the country to join Ethiopian outfit, St. George FC, where he stayed for three years before making his comeback at the Ruaraka based club. 💪| Patrick Musotsi Matasi, welcome to the CHAMP12NS.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/zCBYPb3nxy— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 28, 2021 During his unveiling that took place on Saturday morning, the goalkeeper who was lucky to escape a near-death encounter expressed his delight at rejoining the 2020/2021 Kenyan champions as he outlined his ambitions with the club in the next two seasons. “I am really happy to be back at Tusker and it is a great pleasure for me. I was here for only three months then left and for me to come back means there is something I didn’t fulfil as a player,””I am here to work and to help the team prosper and achieve its targets. Tusker has won the league and qualified to represent the country in the CAF Champions League and this means a lot to me as a player. I have to work and fight to defend the badge of the club,” he told the club’s portal. On his part, Tusker chairman Dan Aduda pinpointed the keeper’s earlier stay as a factor that will help Matasi to seamlessly settle in at the club as they prepare for clashes on the continental scene after a four-year absence. 📸| Patrick Matasi is a brewer.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/SlJXniffKl— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) August 28, 2021 “We are really excited to land Matasi as he will add competition in our goalkeeping department. He has been here before, he knows the fabric of the club and so it will not be hard for him to adjust,” the chairman said. In signing for Tusker, Matasi becomes the fourth player to be officially unveiled by the CAF Champions League participants. Former Gor Mahia defender Charles Momanyi and Tanzanian duo of Ibrahim Joshua and Kalos Protus are the other signings that have been unveiled by the club.
