Winners and losers in Ronaldo transfer to United: Are there any losers?

If there is a perfect definition of a ’win-win’ situation, it’s Cristiano Ronaldo in Manchester United. All three parties are happy: the player himself, Juventus and the Red Devils. But is it really like that? Are there no losers in this transfer? There were plenty of losers in Messi to PSG deal, is it possible there are none in this one? Let’s examine carefully.Winner: Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese wanted one last big shot in a giant club, as he thought that won’t be possible in Juventus. The 36-years old has played in Serie A for the last three years, and he only managed to win domestic titles. And he wanted more. Surely, he’s done his ’task’ – scored plenty of goals, but was only League top scorer once. Also, he scored 81 goals, but third of them were from penalties. Still, in his mind, he probably thinks he can do more than ’only’ Juventus, and according to this transfer, he stil can. He goes back to his second home, and everybody seems to be thrilled at the idea.OFFICIAL! Cristiano Ronaldo makes a sensational return to Manchester United 12 years after departingWinner: Manchester United. The Glazer family PR department probably opened a bottle of champagne when the deal was done. The American owners have never been popular since they bought the club, and the lack of title winning campaigns, along with the Super League fiasco deteriorated their position with the fan base even more. The Sancho and Varane transfers made situation a bit better, but those deals took all of the money left available for Solskajer. So to get a club legend for only  is a real winner. After all, the shirt sales will recoup the transfer fee in no time, and the fans now have a Premier League title hope after a number of years.Let us tell you a little story about facts…Winner: Juventus. This looked like a situation when you want to break with your partner, but don’t know how and then your partner comes over to you and end the relationship. You are in fact happy, but want to look sad, just to be polite. Juventus made a huge mistake in signing Ronaldo anyway. He took a huge amount of money from the club, they have won two titles while he was in Turin (they have done that even before him), and the major goal was not achieved – they haven’t won the Champions League. In fact, they didn’t even come close with Ronaldo leading the attack (they were eliminated by Ajax, Lyon and Porto). The Portuguese also had a clash with both Juve coaches before Pirlo (Sarri and Allegri), and then Massimiliano returned to Turin stronger than ever, the writing was on the wall. Juventus are actually the biggest winners here.In the 12 years between Cristiano Ronaldo’s first and second spells at Old Trafford, he scored 392 league goals and Manchester United’s various wearers of No. 7 got 24.— Richard Jolly (@RichJolly) August 27, 2021 Looser: Serie A. They are actually the only real losers in this transfer. The Italian league is far from competitive for years, although they did surpass Bundesliga in UEFA rankings and they sit at number 3 at the moment. They have no real world class stars in their league. After Romelu Lukaku, Cristiano Ronaldo also left the league and currently, Roma coach Jose Mourinho is the biggest ’star’. And we are talking about a man who damaged his reputation with his last two jobs (Manchester United and Tottenham).🔴 CR7 makes his return to @ManUtd 🔴👕 196 appearances⚽️ 84 goals🅰️ 34 assists👟 1 Golden Boot🤩 2 Player of the Season🏆 3 #PL titlesWelcome back, @Cristiano! 👋 pic.twitter.com/VfLtn8Q3tv— Premier League (@premierleague) August 27, 2021 Looser? Ole Gunnar Solskajer. It looks funny this one, since the Manchester coach was genuinely happy with the transfer, and has a good connection with Ronaldo, with whom he used to play years ago. But, think a bit. He now has   he has to mix. On top of that, the Portuguese has not come back to his former club to sit on the bench, and will apply the pressure if that happens. And a divided locker room is never a good sign for any coach. And let’s not forget on major thing: the pressure. With Ronaldo back, Solskjaer is expected to deliver some trophy, and the fans are not talking about FA Cup. The pressure from the fans will be immense. At 36, Ronaldo is here to win now, he is not the future. A large number of fans think that Solskjar is the weakest link in this team. He could end up being the biggest looser, and could be sacked down the road, if United is not fighting for the title buy New Year 2021.(4.40) WOLVERHAMPTON (3.50) MANCHESTER UNITED (1.85)Looser? Manchester City. It’s a tricky one, since the reliable sources from Manchester are saying that it was Pep Guardiola and City who first ended their interest with Ronaldo, before he returned to Old Trafford. If that is the case, City are not losers, but we don’t know that for sure. On the other hand, the current Premier League champions are once again left without a proper striker, and Ronaldo would surely be of great help in their quest for the Champions League and Premier League title chases.
