Change of guard at Kakamega Homeboyz

FKF Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have officially parted ways with Coach Nicholas Muyoti and appointed his assistant Bernard Mwalala as his successor.Muyoti has been linked with a move to an unnamed Tanzanian side as well as Nairobi City Stars. He leaves after being in charge of the club for over two years.  “It is true Muyoti has left the team, he has an offer outside the country and he opted to take it. Bernard Mwalala takes over with immediate effect,” a source from Homeboyz camp told Mozzart Sport.Muyoti joined Homeboyz in February 2019 as a replacement for Paul Nkata who took off after he was implicated in match-manipulation. He was later vindicated as four players were slapped by FIFA bans. In his first season in charge, he led the team to a seventh-place finish in the Kenyan Premier League, the following season was even better for him as his side was firmly in the title race before the league was halted, they finished second, seven points behind Gor Mahia.⭐| The coach and player of the month of July is @FcHomeboyz’s Duo of Nicholas Muyoti and Sami Mwinyi respectively #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/EGsJoWnZhr— FKF Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) August 25, 2021 His successor Mwalala is a former Nzoia Sugar and Bandari FC coach who joined the team in May 2021 after months in the cold. While with Nzoia, he led them back to the Kenyan Premier League in 2016 after years out. He then moved to Bandari in 2018 and twice led the team to a second-place finish in the league, their highest in history. He also won the 2019 FKF Cup and led the Dockers in the CAF Confederation Cup where they exited in the first round.##EDITORS_CHOICE##
