AFC Leopards coach set to jet back

AFC Leopards slapped with a two-window transfer embargoAFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems will jet back in the country on Monday 6th September to begin his pre-season with the team ahead of the new campaign, Mozzart Sport can report. The Belgian left the country for holiday a few days before the conclusion of the 2020/21 season and he’s now set to relink with the team ahead of what will be his first full season with the 12-time league champions. Before leaving for Belgium, the tactician signed a new two-year deal after his initial six-month contract expired. He went ahead to declare that Ingwe would be challenging for the title next season after finishing fourth in the just wrapped up season. A few weeks ago, reports surfaced in Rwanda that Police FC were interested in his services but later the reports turned out to be false. The return trip to Nairobi by road is much more pleasant with this victory … 😉😉😉 pic.twitter.com/HI4qCOf4V1— Patrick Aussems (@PatrickAussems) August 12, 2021 Aussems will be keen on beefing up a largely depleted Ingwe team. Towards the end of the season he had to play with a makeshift central defence pairing if Yusuf Mainge and Isaac Kipyegon, both fullbacks and it is an area that they will be seeking to address this window. But first they must work on having the current transfer embargo slapped on the team lifted. FIFA took action against Ingwe for failing to pay some of their former players and coaches and it resulted in them being slapped with transfer sanctions.Among players linked with a move to the den are Anthony Simasi of Bidco United, Michael Wanjala of Tusker FC, Hillary Simiyu of Nzoia among others.
