Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, site of this weekend’s Solheim Cup, features an 18-hole course opened in 1919 by legendary architect Donald Ross that was restored in 2017-18 by Andrew Green.
The club has hosted several top events, including the U.S. Open (1920, 1931, 1957, 1979), the PGA Championship (1986, 1993) and the U.S. Amateur (1973).
The LPGA announced that Inverness will be set up for the Solheim Cup at 6,903 yards, playing to a par of 72. There is only one par 5 and one par 3 on the back nine. Several holes present the option of moving up tees during the tournament.
Inverness ranks No. 4 on Golfweek’s Best list of private courses in Ohio, and it is tied for No. 47 on Golfweek’s Best Classic Courses list for all layouts built before 1960 in the U.S.
