KCB centre back set to resume training next week

Injured KCB centre back Nashon Alembi is set to resume training next week ahead of the resumption of the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.The rugged defender is currently sidelined after picking a back injury while in the action during Harambee Stars friendly match against Tusker on Saturday last week and was subsequently withdrawn alongside seven other other players. Alembi who is glad to have enjoyed his career breakthrough in the past season fell awkwardly while contesting for an aerial challenge with Tusker centre back Christopher Oruchum in the second half of game which ended 1-0 in favour of Stars.##EDITORS_CHOICE##The towering player who is in contention for the Defender of the Season accolade revealed that he developed pains after the game and was advised to rest for a week.”I am feeling better and hopefully, I will resume training next week. The setback came at a time when I was looking to impress the national team technical bench but there is always next time. I haven’t received any offers from a local clubs but even if I had, I would choose to stay at KCB to help win titles,”he noted. Alembi made his Stars debut in a friendly match against South Sudan in March and was also used in the second half of the final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Togo. He previously plied his trade with Tusker and Kangemi All Stars.
