FIFA Secretary-General Fatma Samoura is set to tour Kenya this week with the highlight of her visit being the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League Cecafa region Qualifiers at Nyayo Stadium on Thursday afternoon.In her two-day trip to the country, Fatma will also meet with football leadership in the country and the Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa is looking forward to hosting her.“We welcome the FIFA Secretary General to Kenya. Our clubs are taking part in regional and continental competitions for the first time and we are pleased to share this moment with the Secretary General,” Doris Petra said.This will be Samoura’s first visit to Kenya since her appointment as FIFA’s Secretary General in 2016 and will be accompanied by FIFA’s Chief Women’s Football Officer Sarai Barema.Fatma and Barema are on a South and East African tour with an aim of highlighting FIFA’s commitment to developing the female game throughout the continent and were in South Africa on Saturday as they graced the COSAFA equivalent of the qualifiers final.Delighted to present the talented young ladies of @SundownsLadies & Black Rhinos Queens with their accolades today along with @SarBareman following @CAF_Online Womens Champions League #COSAFA Qualifiers finals match. Eight-year targets include doubling the number of female players to 60 million as well as doubling the number of member associations with organized youth leagues.FKF launch Women football strategy five years down the line
