MCF head coach Robert Orangi will be looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2021/22 National Super League by bringing in at least six new players. The club made its debut in the second tier in the recently concluded campaign, and despite being in contention for automatic promotion for the better part of the first leg, they faded to a16th place finish with 42 points.Orangi attributed their poor run in the second leg to the unforeseen disruption of the flow of the league by the government who suspended sporting activities at some point to curb the spread of coronavirus. However, the tactician says he will not settle for anything less of the playoff spot in the new season, disruption of sporting activities and congestion of fixtures notwithstanding. To achieve his target, the former Kangemi All Stars boss said he was looking to beef his squad by signing three goalkeepers, two forwards and a midfielder to inject fresh blood in the squad that is largely made up of experienced players.Ivan Anguyo has found a new lease of life at NSL side Mully Children’s Family (MCF) FC https://t.co/guRTmlKeJy— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) March 16, 2021 “Our goalkeeping department was badly exposed in the past season after we were hit by injuries. We had to rely on a rookie from our academy who did well in despite his inexperience in the league and thus we have to sign at least three good custodians. Our defence and midfield was good. We had a challenge in converting our chances and two forwards will be enough to get us goals. I have already finalized the negotiations and it is just a matter of time before I unveil the new players, ” he said.MCF coach asks government to set up a bubble for teams drawn from the Lake RegionOrangi in the meantime predicted a more tougher season following the return of Zoo FC and Western Stima in the second tier who were axed from the top flight for match manipulation and poor run respectively. He said the two had experienced players who are capable of masterminding a return within one year and warned his boys against slumping into a comfort zone.NSL League:Mully Childrens Family (MCF) Vs Migori Youth1-1 as the 2nd half starts. pic.twitter.com/SSgfSHSwHZ— Zollz (@zollz) July 3, 2021 “The season will be very tough if the profile of the teams who will be angling at promotion is anything to go by. Stima have done it before while Zoo always have good players from their region. There are also the teams which missed it in the previous season and head into this one hoping to be lucky. Have told my players to approach the season with the seriousness it deserves, ” added the former Ushuru assistant coach. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##
