Posta Rangers midfielder Bernard Ondiek was named the Discovery of the Season in the club’s end of season awards and has dedicated the gong to head coach Stanley Okumbi.Ondiek joined Posta in the mid-season transfer window from Gor Mahia after being handed limited playing time at the FKF Cup champions in the first half of the season.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ondiek was delighted to be recognized by the club and dedicated the award to head coach Okumbi who handed him a new lease of life. “It’s a very motivating award and encouraging because the season has been tough and hopefully the awards can steer us to the right direction as a club. I would like to dedicate the award to the coach (Stanley Okumbi) and also the team because without my teammates I would not have won the award,” said Ondiek.Ondiek played a key role in Posta Rangers’ survival last season after flirting with relegation for the better part of the season but decent results in the second leg ensured their place in the league for another season.Ondiek tips Posta Rangers to be title contenders next seasonThe former Western Stima midfielder admitted that the team was struggling when he arrived but issued hope to Posta fans ahead of next season after commencing pre-season training last week. “I found Posta not in a good position, we had a number of draws but we turned things around we could have had a better season if we started the season better. The mood in the camp is right good ahead of the season, it’s like everyone is on trials trying to prove to the coach that they are capable in the coming season,” added Ondiek. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##
