Ahead of the team’s expected regroup for preseason training on Thursday, Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo has quashed reports of disharmony in the team and expects a full house at the 19-time Kenyan champions.Pamzo and the entire technical have a herculean task of erasing their poor 2020/2021 league season that saw them finish a disappointing eighth, twenty points adrift champions Tusker. At the tail end of August, the latest tale of never ending sagas at K’Ogalo left the team staring into blank spaces as a legion led by captain Harun Shakava, assistant captain Philemon Otieno, Ernest Wendo, Andrew Juma and Samuel Njau among others left the club’s official communication channel after frustrations resulting from finance related issues, as usual.🟢 | UPDATEWe are set to resume training on Thursday in preparation for the new season which is to start on the weekend of September 26; we will play Tusker FC in season curtain-raiser ( Super Cup) a week before the season starts. #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/fGKJRUgBCl— 🏆 – GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) September 6, 2021 With the team announcing that its preseason training will officially commence on Thursday, September 10, an evasive Pamzo erred on the cautious side as he stated that he expects to have a full house when the team embarks on turning a new leaf ahead of their participation both in the 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League and in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup tie against winners between Atlabara FC Juba/Al Ahly Merowe in October.”We are just preparing to start our season on Thursday and we just pray that everybody will come back. I am looking for a full house on Thursday and that is where my focus is. It was a very tough season for the club so we just hope that it will be a new beginning for us and try as much as possible to do well but it all starts with getting it right from Thursday,” a cautious Pamzo told Mozzart Sport.OFFICIALWe take on the winner between South Sudanese side Atlabara FC and Al Ahly Merowe from Sudan in second round of CAF Confed Cup preliminary stage. #Sirkal pic.twitter.com/osImDsl0JW— 🏆 – GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) August 13, 2021 Before the new season starts, Gor will have a chance to get off their campaign on a positive note as they will take on champions Tusker in the Super Cup which acts as the season’s curtain raiser on the weekend of 26th September.
