Mombasa-born Ali switches clubs in Qatar

Mombasa-born Hashim Ali Abdulatif has switched clubs in Qatar, ditching Al-Sadd and seeking a new challenge with Al-Rayyan, and took to his Instagram to announce the development.Ali had already won three trophies with Al-Saad this year, winning the League, the Prince Cup, and the Qatar Cup this season, and is in line to win a fourth trophy as Al Rayyan are in the Emir Cup final where they will face off with his former club, Al-Sadd, after edging out Michael Olunga’s Al Duhail 2-1 in the semifinal. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hashim Ali Abdulatif (@h.ally16) His immediate former club, Al-Sadd was under the tutelage of former Barcelona midfield maestro Xavi.Ali also played alongside former Arsenal midfielder Santi Carzola at Al-Sadd.Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga, who plies his trade in the country with Al Duhail, was among the first people to congratulate Ali on his recent move.Ali was born and bred in Mombasa before moving to Qatar to join his parents and was even on holiday at Mombasa recently. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hashim Ali Abdulatif (@h.ally16) He has been part of Al-Sadd senior team since joining them from Al Arabi in 2019.He has represented Qatar at the national level, featuring in across several junior levels (U19, U20, U23), with the most recent call up being to the U23 Qatar national squad in March this year.The midfielder is also a product of the Aspire Academy, an establishment that scouts and helps develop Qatari athletes, whilst also providing them with secondary school education, and featured at Hoffenheim Academy in Germany shortly.
