Vihiga United and Kenya Police FC played out to a one-all draw in an FKF Premier League/National Super League first leg tie staged at the Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.United secured a play-off spot after finishing 16th in the FKF Premier League while the law-enforcers set a date with United after narrowly missing out on automatic promotion by finishing third in the National Super League.Heading into the game, United held some advantage as they had never lost a match to Kenya Police in the three encounters between the two sides, the law enforcers had never scored a goal against Vihiga as well. The visitors got to a dream start when Clinton Kinanga gave them the lead in the 19th minute, this was however short-lived as Lesley Otieno drew the hosts level six minutes later to calm the nerves of the FKF Premier League side.FTVihiga United 1-1 Kenya PoliceAll to play for in the return leg next week.#FKFPL #NSL pic.twitter.com/eFsXk0IyCi— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 12, 2021 United took control of the game with Tusker FC target, Stewart Omondi, in particular, running the show in the middle of the park. The hosts could not take the many opportunities that the youngster created and the first half ended one-all.The second half was largely balanced with United showing more attacking intent but they were easily canceled out by a determined Police side and in the end, the match ended even. The two teams face-off again Sunday 19th September at the Ruaraka Ground in Nairobi. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##
