Kenya Police FC head coach John Bobby Ogolla has downplayed the importance of the away goal that they scored against Vihiga United in the FKFPL/NSL first leg match on Sunday at the Mumias Sports Complex.Police forced a one-all draw against the FKF Premier League outfit and now they hold a slight advantage as a 0-0 draw could see them earn promotion to the top flight ahead of the new season that begins in under two weeks. Clinton Kinanga opened the scoring for the visitors in the 19th minute before United hit back with a leveler courtesy of a Lesley Otieno low shot.Despite having the slender advantage of an away goal, the Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars legend does not believe that it means much now and has warned that his team has to be clinical with the chances that they created. He added that they are going to fix the weaknesses that he noticed in the first leg.“All the same nowadays I don’t believe that there is anything like home advantage, if you get your chances, take them if don’t you pay for it. We are waiting for them in Nairobi, and we are going to fill the gaps that I have seen today but I believe that it’s nobody’s game, it’s not over until it’s over,” he stated in his post-match interview.FTVihiga United 1-1 Kenya PoliceAll to play for in the return leg next week.#FKFPL #NSL pic.twitter.com/eFsXk0IyCi— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 12, 2021 Reflecting on the game against United, Bobby said getting an early goal destabilized United to some extent before they hit back six minutes later with the leveler.“I thank God that we got an early goal and I think it destabilized them a bit but they came back quickly and scored,” he added. The second leg will be played on Sunday 19th September at the Ruaraka Grounds in Nairobi.
