Vihiga United assistant coach Samuel Twago believes that his team will perform better in the second leg of the FKF PL/NSL playoff against Kenya Police FC on Sunday at the Ruaraka Grounds.United had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the first leg played at their Mumias Sports Complex last Sunday. Clinton Kinanga opened the scoring for the visitors in the 25th before Lesley Otieno gave United a fighting chance with a leveler six minutes later.Heading into the second leg in Nairobi, Twago is adamant that his team will do better than they did in the first leg. He says that they have five days to prepare and that they will be in better shape at Ruaraka.“We have five days of training and we are going to prepare well for the return leg, good preparation and we believe that coming the away game in Ruaraka we will get a positive result,” he stated.Check out the 🎥 Match highlights of the FKFPL/NSL promotion/relegation playoff first leg fixture between Vihiga United vs Kenya Police👉 https://t.co/oX7VKhBVuG— Football Kenya Federation (@Football_Kenya) September 13, 2021 Vihiga played well in the first half and the early stages of the second half before Police took control of the game in the later stages. This is largely due to the fact that the team hadn’t trained since the FKF Premier League came to a close in August. They resumed training on Thursday and two days later they featured in the first leg for a two-legged tie that will determine if they remain in the top league or they will go down and Twago says they expected that fatigue would creep in.“I am happy with the result even though we should have emerged with a win. The way we had prepared we knew that we would start well but in some later stages it would be difficult and we were under so much pressure in the later stages of the game but fortunately we did not lose the game,” he added. The Sunday clash will kick off at 3PM.Vihiga United and Kenya Police are ready for the playoff.
