Warambo booted from KCB after ten years of service

When the history of KCB FC will be documented, Bethwel Warambo will deservedly get a chapter or two having served the club for ten seasons. The central defender who arrived at the club as an inexperienced rookie in 2011 silently bade farewell to the team a couple of days ago after the management opted not to renew his stay. The club was least expected to throw a party for the departing lieutenant or even organize a farewell-cum pre-season match as a way of recognizing his efforts but all he got was a notification to cut ties.Despite the club handing him a rather cold sent off after years of breaking sweat in the green and white robes, he says he was prepared for it and it didn’t catch him by surprise at all.A Happy Birthday to currently one of our longest serving players, Bethwell Warambo. 🎂🎁🎉#Believe #LionHearted pic.twitter.com/4eNArHlvgx— KCB Football Club 😷 (@KCBFootball) July 1, 2020 “Kenyan football seldom recognizes and appreciates the efforts by the players. I know everyone felt that the management would have let me go in an honourable way but from my end, I didn’t expect it as it is the norm in our football. I do not have hard feelings towards them and wish them well,” he said. For the years he has plied his trade with the bankers, Warambo has had the chance of rubbing shoulders with revered central defenders. He singled out the duo of Dennis Orenge and Dennis Gicheru as his best pair at the heart of the defence. The duo have since hanged their boots with Gicheru transitioning into administration where he serves as Wazito Chief Executive Officer.💪| Bethwel Warambo💯| Michael Mutinda🔥| @OtangaDerrickBetter #Believe https://t.co/OwFNPSmJeq— KCB Football Club 😷 (@KCBFootball) December 2, 2020 “I have played with several centre backs but Gicheru and Orenge are the best to have played with. They are natural leaders and excellent ballplayers who would hold my hand and cover me when exposed,” he revealed.Meanwhile, the former MOSCA FC player revealed that a litany of clubs drawn from Football Kenya Federation Premier League and the second tier were eyeing his signature.”I have offers from top-flight and second-tier clubs but I am haven’t selected the best. Perhaps by next week, I will have identified the best,” he added.
