Goalden boy Kapaito crowned Kenyan soccer’s Most Valuable asset

Kariobangi Sharks forward Erick Kapaito has made history by becoming the first player to bag two Most Valuable Player accolades in recent years after being named the 2020/21 FKF Premier League gong. Kapaito had a great season with Sharks who finished fifth in the league. He featured in 30 games, scored 24 goals and set up five others totaling 29 G/A. Sharks’ late slump in the league saw them drop off the title race and in the end settled for a fifth-place finish The forward saw off competition from Tusker FC duo of Henry Meja and Eugene Asike, Sofapaka’s Lawrence Juma and Elvis Rupia of AFC Leopards. He walks home with one million Kenyan shillings and a TV set for being named MVP. He becomes the first player in recent years to win the MVP award twice, he bagged the accolade in 2018 as well.
