He beat four other contestants to bag the award that comes with a monetary token courtesy of FKF Premier League.Others who had been shortlisted for the award include Wazito’s Kevin Kimani who emerged as first runner up, Jackson Macharia of Tusker FC who finished third. Kariobangi Sharks’ James Mazembe who has since moved to KCB, Shami Kibwana of Kakamega Homeboyz who is now a Tusker FC player and Brian Ochieng are other players who had been shortlisted for the accolade.Lawi walks home with Ksh. 300,000, Kimani gets Ksh. 200,000 while Macharia gets Ksh. 100,000 for finishing third.
