Pamzo assures fans amid reports of turmoil ahead of next season

Gor Mahia assistant coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo has quelled rumours that the club is in shambles ahead of the new season with reports of mass exodus and players turning down the club.K’Ogalo is undergoing tough financial times with players going for months without their wages, a situation that has prompted players to head for the exit door.A number of players have also declined to sign for the club most notably James Mazembe who opted for the green of KCB and Cliff Nyakeya who reunited with head coach Francis Kimanzi at Wazito.Word from Secretary General Sam Ocholla#Sirkal I #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/XHHTPnCOEa— 🏆 – GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) September 9, 2021 Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Pamzo urged Gor Mahia fans to ignore the rumours flying around of players leaving the club reiterating that the club would still perform despite high profile exits.“Our fans should not be worried, the rumours doing rounds are just there to make news, even if a player leaves Gor he will not be the first player to leave the club,”“Gor will still perform, I left Gor and it still performed well, Jerry left Gor and it performed well. I’m confident in the players that we have and the new additions,” said Pamzo. The club is however still out of a transfer ban imposed by FIFA but are in the final stages of finalising their debts with Tanzanian midfielder Dickson Ambundo. The former Posta Rangers head coach revealed that they have a full house in training save for Andrew Juma and Clifton Miheso who appear to have left the club.Pamzo also explained why the club has not been able to make marquee signings in the offseason transfer window adding that the club has also turned down a number of good players who do not fit the club’s profile.🟢 | UPDATEWe are set to resume training on Thursday in preparation for the new season which is to start on the weekend of September 26; we will play Tusker FC in season curtain-raiser ( Super Cup) a week before the season starts. #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/fGKJRUgBCl— 🏆 – GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) September 6, 2021 “Most of the players want to come to play for Gor but they ask for a lot of money, asking for Ksh2 million at this time is a bit difficult, good players have come and we have also turned them down,”“It does not mean that when someone played for Gor he will come back, we do not have a problem in midfield, we want to sharpen our frontline and our defensive line,” added Pamzo.
