Tusker’s new Tanzanian striker heaps praises on Matano, teammates for a perfect start

Tusker FC’s Tanzanian import Ibrahim Joshua has heaped praise on his teammates as well as coach Robert Matano for what one would refer to as a perfect start at the club since joining them.Ibrahim has scored two goals already for his new club in two matches, both of them crucial goals to help Tusker proceed to the second round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers and also caused the penalty that saw Tusker take the lead at Nyayo Stadium yesterday.”The game was tough but the coach gave us directions on how to handle it. We implemented it and the game was good, we won. The biggest contributor is the teamwork from my teammates and the coach. That is what is giving me the energy to do what I am doing on the field,” Joshua noted.Ibrahim JoshuaTwo goals in two games for Tusker, he also won today’s penalty against Arta Solar. The little-known Tanzania striker has settled in fast.— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) September 18, 2021 Joshua also revealed that he is targeting the top scorer’s gong in the FKF Premier League in the coming season, as he helps the team bring in more trophies.”When I joined the team, I was taken to the office and shown trophies. I was then told that my teammates had delivered and now it was my time to deliver as well. My target is to be the top scorer in the FKF Premier League. I cannot give out an exact number of goals, but I would like to score in every game in the league,” he added. On how he is finding life at his new club and specifically on his relationship with the tactician, the Tanzanian highlighted that it was not an easy start at first with the staunch disciplinarian but he later found out what the coach wanted of him and they are now on the same page.”I have gone through very many coaches. Adapting to coach Robert Matano gave me trouble at the start but later I found out what he wanted and what he normally wants from his players and all is good now. Coach Robert wants you to do something in a specific way and if you do that, you become his friend. Every time when a player does not do what the coach wants, they will not be on good terms,” he said.Highlights from today’s CAF Champions League Preliminary round second leg match where @tusker_fc beat Djibouti’s Arta Solar7 3-0 at the Nyayo National Stadium .Goals from ; Shami Kibwana 8’Ibrahim Joshua 25’Deogracious Ojok 75’#CAFCL pic.twitter.com/DYfcHawP1b— The Misunderstoods (@Misunderstoods0) September 18, 2021 Tusker are set to play Gor Mahia on Wednesday in the Super Cup and have the headstart as they have already played two competitive matches in the past week and will be hoping to build on their performance in those two matches in the league’s curtain-raiser.Though Ibrahim has not had the opportunity to play Gor Mahia, he intimates that they have prepared well for the clash.”I cannot talk much about the Gor Mahia match because I have not known them well but I expect that we will win in that game.
