Veteran midfielder Peter ‘Pinchez’ Opiyo has signed a one-year contract extension with Nairobi City Stars that will see him form part of the team for the 2021/22 season after enjoying a great outing with the Kawangware based outfit.The midfielder was one of City Stars’ best performers last season where he scored seven league goals and set up a couple of others for his teammates. His good run has been rewarded with a contract extension which has been announced y the club through its social media pages.Team coordinator Samson Otieno described the player as a great mentor to the young and upcoming players.“He was a key performer in the ended season. Other than being top scorer with seven goals plus two assists, he picked up five MVP awards which was the most by any player. Besides, his leadership and mentorship had a direct bearing on most of the young players in the team in terms of performance. During the 2020/21 FKF PL season, he played a role in helping the team finish in the seventh position in the league.Meanwhile, the club has signed two new players ahead of the new season that starts over the weekend. The new arrivals are Mike Madoya from Tusker FC, Madoya is an attacking midfielder, the other is Dennis Wanjala a left-back from Nzoia Sugar.
