Bidco United have completed the signing of Gabriel Wandera from Nzoia Sugar ahead of the new season that is set to kick off on Saturday.The towering defender had five goals to his name, mostly from the spot, and was a key player for Nzoia Sugar in the past campaign, marshaling the defense alongside Elvis Ronack and slotting into the defensive midfielder position when needed.While announcing the capture of Wandera, Bidco United made reference to his tackling ability, aerial duels, and his technique as additions that the defender brings to the team.The Anthony-Akhulia coached side is set to kick off their league campaign against debutants Vihiga Bullets at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.In their maiden season in the league, Bidco finished 11th with 44 points from 10 wins and 14 draws and will be seeking to build on that in their second campaign in the top tier.The move means that Bidco have the top-scoring defender, as well as the top-assisting defender with Wandera and David Kalama respectively, with the two having a combined goals involvement tally of 12 goals.In the 2020/21 campaign, Bidco scored 28 goals and a quick look at the goals contribution between the two defenders in the event that they were in the same team means that they would have had a hand in 42.86% of the total goals for the team.In June, the towering defender revealed to Mozzart Sport that Bidco had expressed interest in his signature in the February transfer window but the two clubs failed to agree on a possible move then.He also revealed that Tusker were keen on taking him back to Ruaraka but talks with the would-be champions hit a dead end.
