Kenyan international Amos Ekhalie becomes the latest acquisition at Wazito FC as the moneybags continue with their offseason transfer window spending spree.Ekhalie has spent most of his career in Finland since making the move to IFK Mariehamn back in 2007 and currently holds a Finnish passport but has maintained his Kenyan citizenship.Speaking to the club’s official portal after his unveiling, Ekhalie was delighted to be back in the Premier League after 14 years and vowed to work his socks off for the team.We are delighted to announce the signing of Amos Ekhalie from finish club IFK Mariehamn#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/LKnLc1RkfS— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) September 23, 2021 “It feels good to be back in the Kenyan league, I have been away for a long time and this for me is a new and fresh challenge. I am excited about this and I am going to give my best to the team, I am here to win,” said Ekhalie. The midfielder was signed on the Bosman rule after he was rendered clubless for over a year since parting ways with IFK Mariehamn back in January 2020.Ekhalie has one cap to his name after making his debut in the 1-0 win over Liberia back in 2016 under head coach Stanley Okumbi but failed to feature for Harambee Stars again. Wazito CEO Dennis Gicheru highlighted the experience that he will add to the team with a number of their signings being young players.“He is a good, experienced player, and considering our team is largely youthful, having players with the experience and quality Amos has is good, he will be resourceful to the team,” Gicheru said.
