There was no doubt Julian Nagelsmann’s men will take all three points from their Bavarian neighbors. With two goals in each of the halves, Bayern Munich separate themselves from their closest rivals Wolfsburg. Final score at Trolli-Arena – 1-3.From the very start, it was clear – Bayern are after another match in which they can score three or more. The outcome of the first match of Bundesliga round six was never in question.Bayern’s Leon Goretzka was the first one to threaten Sascha Burchert. Goretzka released a superb dipping volley at goal in the 4th minute from the edge of the box that one flew just wide of the left post. But only six minutes later, Munich machinery was up-front. Thomas Muller brilliantly darted into the box to latch on to a cross and fired the ball in off the bottom of the left post, leaving the goalkeeper stunned.Muller could have scored his second just ten minutes later – he picked up an inch-perfect pass inside the box and fired the ball a whisker wide of the right post. The Cloverleaves had their first chance in the 26th minute – American Julian Green received the ball from the set piece and took a good first touch to unleash a low shot, but Manuel Neuer couldn’t be bothered to make a nice save.Goretzka was eager to score – he had his second big chance in the 29th minute. He tried from the edge of the box but the ball whizzed just wide of the left post. And as if Goretzka’s missed opportunity meant a goal is coming – two minutes after it was two-nil for the visitors. Joshua Kimmich got a shot away from the edge of the box and scored into the bottom right corner. Leroy Sane provided an assist by leaving a cool pass for Kimmich.European Golden Boot Robert Lewandowski was out of luck this evening. Not that many chances for the Pole. First one came in the 40th minute. He tried with brilliant free kick effort, but the ball crashed against the bar.Home team rarely threatened Neuer but there were moments when he had to be alert. Just before the half-time whistle, Sebastian Griesbeck found space in the box and tried a looping header at goal from the corner, but the ball went just wide to the left.Bayern saw some bad news minutes after the second half started. Benjamin Pavard took out his opponent with a nasty slide tackle and received a straight red card from the referee Robert Schroder.Hosts tried soon after – Branimir Hrgota tried with a free kick – the ball flew towards the right post only for Neuer to dive and make a save.Dominant guests did not want to risk any injuries or severe fatigue after being in numerical disadvantage. But nevertheless they were the better side.Third goal came in the 69th minute – at first glance it seemed Lewandowski scored but it turned out it was an own goal by Griesbeck. The midfielder tried to clear a cross from the six-yard box but instead sent the ball behind his own keeper.Greuther could have scored in the 82nd minute when Cedric Itten failed to turn the rebound in from a promising position. Neuer pulled off a superb save and denied Itten’s effort. But what he failed then, he managed six minutes after. Itten ran onto a clever lofted pass from Timothy Tillman and easily beat the keeper with a header into the left side of the goal from close range. However, that was it. It was obvious that the host are happy for even scoring one against 10-man Bayern. Nagelsmann and his squad selfishly hold that Bundesliga summit. At least until Wolfsburg play’s their match against Hoffenheim away.BUNDESLIGA – ROUND 6FridayGreuther Furth – Bayern 1-3 (0-2)/Itten 88 – Muller 10, Kimmich 31, Griesbeck 69 og/Saturday16.30: (1.80) Union Berlin (3.60) Bielefeld (5.20)16.30: (1.38) RB Leipzig (5.20) Hertha (9.00)16.30: (2.95) Hoffenheim (3.40) Wolfsburg (2.55)16.30: (2.10) Eintr.Frankfurt (3.50) Koln (3.80)16.30: (1.80) Leverkusen (3.70) Mainz (5.00)19.30: (4.30) M’ gladbach (3.90) Dortmund (1.85)Sunday16.30: (3.05) Bochum (3.40) Stuttgart (2.45)18.30: (2.00) Freiburg (3.50) Augsburg (4.10)***odds are subject to change***
