FC Talanta and Wazito FC played out to a one-all draw in an FKF Premier League match staged at the Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday afternoon. Despite being very active during the off-season window, Wazito including only two of their new signings in the first 11, they are Zamu Adisa in goal and Swaleh Hamisi at the heart of defence. Talanta on the other hand named Alvin Ochieng, Brian Yakhama, Luis Masika, and Michael Bodo, all new in the first XI. The first chance of the game went Wazito’s way in the 7th minute when they won a freekick just outside the area, Kevin Kimani stepped forward to take but his effort narrowly went wide.Wazito had more of the ball in the opening stages of the game but did not create many opportunities, Talanta on the other hand looked dangerous on the break. Alvin Ochieng had a good opportunity to score against his immediate former employer but his header from an Anthony Gichu corner kick in the 17th minute went over the bar.A minute later, Wazito took the lead through Michael Owino, the forward was fed by Kevin Kimani and he did the rest, firing home for his first of the season. In the 27th minute, Talanta had a great opportunity to level the scores but Michael Omondi shot directly at Zamu Adisa on Wazito goal.Talanta showed more ambition after going down, they forced Wazito to concede a couple of corners which they failed to make count. Wazito took a narrow lead to the break.A minute after the restart, Talanta had a great opportunity to equalize but Anthony Gichu curled his effort over. Talanta continued to show more ambition attacking threat with Brian Yakhama, and Barrack Odhiambo causing Wazito problems.Both teams continued to push for goals. Vincent Oburu’s shot was blocked in the 70th with Talanta keeper Kevin Olang well beaten.12 minutes from time, Talanta won a penalty when debutant Swaleh Hamisi handled the ball in the area. Brian Yakhama stepped forward and converted for the equalizer.Talanta defended well in the closing stages of the game to pick a point.
