Vardy scores on both ends, Everton eases past the Premier League ‘yo-yo’ club

Not a blockbuster Premier League afternoon but far from boring. After the two opening matches of matchday six in English top-tier, in which Man City defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and Man United lost at home to Aston Villa, less attractive teams stepped onto the pitches.Leicester hosted the sturdy Burnley side at King Power Stadium and almost allowed the visitors to take all three points. Jamie Vardy scored three out of four goals of the match – the one in the 12th minute unfortunately went behind his own goalkeeper. English striker annulled his mistake in the 37th minute when he leveled the score.Burnley however proved their are not a harmless-ever-defending squad – Clarets’ new signing Ivorian Maxwel Cornet retained the lead in the 40th minute. However, Vardy was under the spotlight again in the 85th minute as his goal saved the Foxes from defeat.Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds had their hearts broken against West Ham – 1-2 at Elland Road in a tough match with a descent amount of chances on both sides. Home team took the lead in the 19th minute when Raphinha sent an unstoppable low shot behind Lukas Fabianski. Equalizer was an own goal by Leeds’ signing from Barcelona Junior Firpo in the 67th minute.Jamaican striker Michail Antonio took all three points to London with his 90th minute strike.At Vicarage Road, just south-east out of London, guests Newcastle were ahead against Watford but it ended in a goal-each-draw. Magpies took the lead after a sublime goal from Sean Longstaff in the 23rd minute. As always, Allan Saint-Maximin was the unsolvable riddle for the opponents’ defence. He assisted for the goal and was a constant threat for the Hornets.Hosts leveled the score via their best player – Ismaila Sarr. Senegalese footballer scored a header in the 72nd minute to keep Watford’s Premier League survival hopes somewhat alive.Everton had not that difficult of a job as they welcomed Norwich at Goodison Park. Could be considered the least interesting match but nevertheless – two goals were more than enough for Rafa Benitez to be satisfied. First goal came from the spot – penalty was converted by one of the Toffees new signing Andres Townsend.
